IT stocks to watch October 13 start and mostly end with HCL Technologies. It reported its September-quarter numbers and raised its constant-currency revenue guidance, and that lands just as a global tech selloff hits South Korea’s Kospi and overnight Nasdaq futures heading into Tuesday’s open. Think of this as the IT-only companion to our broader stocks to watch today (Oct 13, 2026) list, which covers HCLTech alongside RBL Bank, ICICI Prudential AMC, IRCON and Nazara. Here we stay with Nifty IT names, HCLTech’s verified Q2 FY27 numbers and the IT results still due this week: Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Persistent on October 15, and LTIMindtree on October 16. For live index context during the session, our stock market today India hub is the place to check.

IT stocks to watch October 13: why the sector is in focus

Indian benchmarks had already closed lower on Monday, October 12, 2026, before Asia’s chip rout deepened on Tuesday. Livemint’s October 13 market outlook had the BSE Sensex down 547.65 points, or 0.76%, at 71,924.68, and the NSE Nifty 50 down 157.10 points, or 0.70%, at 22,363.35. Early on Tuesday, the same report said, GIFT Nifty was trading around 22,423, roughly 41 points above the previous Nifty futures close. South Korea was a different story. The Kospi had dropped 295.52 points, or 4.63%, to 6,088.72 in early trade, and the Kosdaq was down 21.90 points, or 2.58%, at 827.90. Japan’s Nikkei 225 had stretched its losses to 2.14%, touching 67,550.47, with SoftBank Group off 6.79% at 5,409 yen. In the US on Monday, according to Livemint, the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.4%, the Dow gained about 200 points and the S&P 500 ended marginally lower.

Both Financial Express and ET Markets put HCL Technologies on their October 13 watchlists, since the company reported Q2 FY27 results after Monday’s close. For IT traders that sets up a familiar two-way pull. On one side is the stock-specific reaction to HCLTech’s guidance raise and deal book. On the other is index beta, if Nifty IT follows the Asian semiconductor selloff. Neither is a forecast. It’s simply a map of the catalysts already on the tape.

HCLTech’s Q2 raise meets a Kospi that was already down more than 4% early Tuesday and a Nasdaq that fell 0.4% Monday — so October 13 IT trading is as much about global risk appetite as about one company’s constant-currency guidance band.

HCLTech Q2 FY27: revenue, profit and margin from the company release

The primary source for the print is HCLTech’s own PR Newswire results release dated October 12, 2026. In it, CFO Shiv Walia said Q2 FY27 revenue was ₹35,620 crore, up 3% quarter-on-quarter and 11.5% year-on-year, and quarterly net income was a company-record ₹5,132 crore, up 11% quarter-on-quarter and 21.2% year-on-year. In dollars, the release put revenue at $3.7 billion, up 2.2% year-on-year, with constant-currency revenue up 2.6% year-on-year. Sequential constant-currency growth for overall revenue was given as 2.3%.

CNBC-TV18’s earnings wrap matches those rupee figures and fills in the operating detail. Consolidated net profit of ₹5,132 crore (up 11% QoQ and 21.2% YoY) beat its poll estimate of ₹4,963 crore. Revenue of ₹35,620 crore (up 3% QoQ and 11.5% YoY) came in a touch below its poll of ₹35,819 crore. Dollar revenue was $3,724 million against $3,650 million in the previous quarter, about 2% QoQ, and short of a $3,747 million poll. EBIT rose 10.9% QoQ to ₹6,465 crore. EBIT margin widened 131 basis points sequentially to 18.2% from 16.9%, and the report points out that this margin already absorbs an 84-basis-point hit from restructuring costs. On CNBC-TV18’s reading of the release, constant-currency revenue grew 2.3% QoQ and 2.6% YoY.

Financial Express described the same PAT as a 21.18% year-on-year rise to ₹5,132 crore and said revenue from operations grew 11% to ₹35,620 crore. Wherever we need a single percentage, we use the company’s own figures from the PR Newswire release: 11.5% year-on-year revenue growth and 21.2% year-on-year net-income growth. We also don’t restate a year-ago PAT in absolute terms, because secondary outlets differ by about ₹1 crore on that base.

The guidance raise: what moved in the FY27 bands

Of everything in the print, the guidance revision is what’s most likely to feed the peer valuation debate going into Wipro and Tech Mahindra later this week. According to the company release and CNBC-TV18:

  • Company revenue growth (YoY, constant currency): revised to 2.5%–4%, up from the earlier 1%–4% band. The lower end went up by 1.5 percentage points and the upper end stayed at 4%.
  • Services revenue growth (YoY, constant currency): narrowed to 3%–4% from 1.5%–4.5%. The lower end rose 1.5 percentage points and the upper end came down 0.5 percentage points.
  • EBIT margin guidance: kept at 17.5%–18.5%.

These are management’s outlook ranges for FY27, not promises for any one of the remaining quarters. CNBC-TV18 also noted that the Q2 EBIT margin of 18.2% already sits inside the unchanged full-year band, after a 131-basis-point sequential expansion that included restructuring costs.

Deal bookings, Advanced AI and the Anthropic tie-up

CEO and MD C Vijayakumar, quoted in the PR Newswire release, said new bookings came to $3.3 billion, up 27% year-on-year, which took first-half bookings to a record. Services grew 3% quarter-on-quarter. Advanced AI revenue grew 28.4% quarter-on-quarter and 78% year-on-year in constant currency. The release put Advanced AI revenue at $219 million for the quarter, which works out to an annualised run-rate of $876 million on that print. CNBC-TV18 gave new bookings as $3.258 billion, up 27% year-on-year, which squares with the “$3.3 billion” headline in the company release.

CNBC-TV18 also broke down the segments (constant currency unless noted). IT and business services revenue grew 2.7% QoQ and 4.4% YoY, engineering and R&D services rose 4.1% QoQ and 2.1% YoY, and HCLSoftware revenue fell 5.8% QoQ and 11.2% YoY. Put IT & business services and engineering & R&D together and combined services grew 3% QoQ and 4% YoY in constant currency. By vertical, retail and CPG grew 14% YoY (CC), financial services 7.1%, technology and services 5.9% and manufacturing 3.9%, while life sciences & healthcare and telecom/media/publishing/entertainment each slipped 2.1% YoY (CC). The company release added that HCLSoftware annual recurring revenue stood at $1.13 billion and revenue per employee per annum at $65.4K, up 2.4% year-on-year.

Hiring and payouts matter for the October 13 tape too, because Financial Express put them right next to the P&L. According to the company release, HCLTech added 6,450 people in Q2 FY27, 6,136 of them freshers. CNBC-TV18 had headcount at 230,339 as of September 30, 2026, with last-twelve-month attrition at 12.8% against 12.7% the quarter before. Financial Express called the 6,450 net addition the biggest quarterly resource addition in 16 quarters. The board declared a dividend of ₹12 per share for the quarter (company release), and Financial Express said the interim dividend has a record date of October 16, 2026, with payment due on October 26. CNBC-TV18 reported the shares closed 0.5% higher at ₹1,223 on Monday before the results came out. That’s a pre-print close, not a reaction to the numbers.

Separately, HCLTech announced a Global Premier Partnership with Anthropic to speed up enterprise Agentic AI adoption. Its services teams will build industry solutions on Claude products, and HCLSoftware will embed them as an Anthropic ISV partner. That wording comes from the PR Newswire release, and Financial Express summarised it too. It’s a partnership announcement, with no revenue contribution put on it beyond the Advanced AI line already reported.

Raising the FY27 constant-currency revenue floor to 2.5% while keeping the 17.5%–18.5% EBIT band unchanged is the cleanest single takeaway from HCLTech’s Q2 — bookings and Advanced AI growth explain the confidence, but the upper revenue end stayed at 4%.

Global tech cues heading into the Indian open

Indian IT companies sell services, not chips, yet Nifty IT often moves with US technology risk and Asian semiconductor sentiment anyway. Livemint’s October 13 cues sketch that backdrop without calling Nifty IT’s open:

  • Nasdaq Composite down 0.4% on Monday, October 12.
  • Kospi down 4.63% at 6,088.72 early on Tuesday; Kosdaq down 2.58% at 827.90.
  • Nikkei 225 down as much as 2.14% at 67,550.47 in early trade; SoftBank Group down 6.79% and Kioxia down 9.71%.
  • Taiwan’s TAIEX down 1.41% at 48,607.10.
  • Crude: WTI in the $92–$93 a barrel range and Brent back above $105, per Enrich Money’s commentary in the same Livemint article. That matters for the overall risk mood even though IT is less oil-sensitive than banks or industrials.

ET Markets’ stocks-in-news note had Monday’s Nifty 50 close at 22,363, down 157 points or 0.70%, with Rupak De of LKP Securities citing support at 22,300 and resistance at 22,420 and 22,650. Use that as benchmark context if you’re mapping IT beta to the index. It isn’t a Nifty IT levels guide, and since we didn’t fetch a separate Nifty IT closing figure for Monday, we’re not going to make one up.

IT results still to come this week (dates re-checked)

HCLTech is out of the way. Here are the next large-cap and mid-tier IT dates, checked again against the company notices fetched for this post:

Company Q2 FY27 date (fetched source) Call / notes
Wipro Thursday, October 15, 2026, after Indian market hours — Wipro press release, October 7, 2026 Management discussion at 7:00 PM IST; our date post: Wipro Q2 results date
Tech Mahindra Thursday, October 15, 2026 — company earnings-call intimation PDF dated October 2, 2026 Call 6:00–7:00 PM IST; see Tech Mahindra Q2 results date
Persistent Systems Thursday, October 15, 2026 — Persistent analyst-call PDF, October 8, 2026 Call 5:00 PM IST with CEO Sandeep Kalra; board calendar lists October 14–15; see Persistent Systems Q2 results date
LTIMindtree (LTM) Friday, October 16, 2026 — board meeting for Q2 FY27 results and interim dividend if any, per ET Markets’ company board-meeting listing (announced October 8, 2026) Call details in our LTIMindtree Q2 results date post

One conflict worth flagging. A Financial Express IT-calendar round-up had Tech Mahindra on October 16, but the company’s own October 2 exchange intimation and press release clearly put the results and the 6:00 PM IST call on October 15. We go with the company PDF. Infosys, Coforge and others report later in October, on calendars we’ve cited in earlier posts, so they sit outside today’s watchlist.

What to read first in HCLTech’s numbers (an educational checklist)

If you’re lining up the HCLTech PDF against peers later this week, keep the definitions tight:

  1. Constant-currency versus reported growth. HCLTech’s guidance bands are in constant currency. Reported rupee revenue grew 11.5% YoY while CC revenue grew 2.6% YoY, and you can’t swap one for the other.
  2. Services versus company revenue. The services band, now 3%–4% CC, leaves out the software drag that CNBC-TV18 put at HCLSoftware down 11.2% YoY in CC. Where you can, compare services with services.
  3. The margin bridge. The 18.2% EBIT margin already carries an 84-basis-point restructuring cost hit, so the 131-basis-point sequential expansion isn’t a “clean” operating change unless you read it with that footnote.
  4. Bookings versus revenue. $3.3 billion of new bookings, up 27% YoY, backs up the guidance-raise story, but bookings aren’t the same as revenue you’ll see recognised in the near term.
  5. The Advanced AI run-rate. The $219 million for the quarter and 78% YoY CC growth are company-reported. The annualised $876 million is just arithmetic on that quarter, not a management forecast.
  6. Dividend dates. ₹12 per share, with Financial Express citing a record date of October 16 and payment on October 26. Check the exchange filing before planning anything around the corporate action; this post is educational and isn’t advice to buy for the dividend.

How this differs from our general October 13 watchlist

Our general Oct 13 stocks-to-watch post already covers HCLTech’s headline PAT, revenue, guidance, the Anthropic partnership and the dividend, alongside names from other sectors. This Daily Stock Updates piece deliberately zooms in:

  • More HCLTech detail on segments, AI, bookings and the margin bridge, from the company release and CNBC-TV18.
  • A direct link to the Kospi/Nasdaq semiconductor risk in Livemint’s Tuesday cues.
  • A forward calendar for Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Persistent and LTIMindtree, with dates from primary sources.
  • Nothing on RBL Bank, IRCON or Nazara; those stay in the general list.

If all you need is the multi-sector catalyst board, post 571 does the job. If you’re tracking Nifty IT through results week, this page and the individual results-date posts linked above give you more to work with.

What it adds up to, without predicting the open

A few educational takeaways for October 13, 2026:

  • HCLTech posted its highest-ever quarterly net income of ₹5,132 crore and raised the lower end of its FY27 CC revenue guidance to 2.5%, while keeping the EBIT margin band at 17.5%–18.5% (company release / CNBC-TV18).
  • Asia’s early-Tuesday tech selloff, with the Kospi down 4.63% and the Nasdaq down 0.4% on Monday, is a separate risk for IT beta, even on a day when a large-cap Indian IT name has just delivered a beat-and-raise quarter (Livemint).
  • Thursday, October 15, bunches up Wipro (after market hours, 7:00 PM IST call), Tech Mahindra (6:00 PM IST call) and Persistent (5:00 PM IST call). Friday, October 16, is LTIMindtree’s board date. These dates come from the companies, not from broker chatter.
  • Hold off comparing HCLTech’s services CC growth and Advanced AI line with peers until each peer’s own PDF is out. One company’s 78% YoY Advanced AI growth tells you nothing about the rest of the sector.

Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. Every percentage above carries the same YoY, QoQ, constant-currency or sequential-margin label the cited source gave it.

Where that leaves IT this week

IT stocks to watch October 13 begin with HCLTech’s verified Q2 FY27 release: ₹35,620 crore of revenue (+3% QoQ, +11.5% YoY), ₹5,132 crore of net income (+11% QoQ, +21.2% YoY), an EBIT margin of 18.2% after a 131-basis-point sequential expansion, $3.3 billion of bookings (+27% YoY), and FY27 CC revenue guidance raised to 2.5%–4%, with services narrowed to 3%–4% and EBIT guidance held at 17.5%–18.5%. That story arrives in a session where Livemint had already logged a 4.63% Kospi fall and a 0.4% Nasdaq decline, so sector beta and the stock’s own reaction may well pull in different directions. For the rest of the week, keep Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Persistent on October 15 and LTIMindtree on October 16, and lean on the linked date posts and exchange filings over secondary round-ups when dates clash. Check every fresh number against the company PDF the morning it comes out. Treat this page as a sourced map of catalysts, not a trade plan.
