The Q2 results today, October 19, 2026, are a full slate: 35 companies are due to report September-quarter numbers, according to Mint’s results list for Monday. Bajaj Finance, UltraTech Cement and Hindustan Zinc are the heavyweights. And it all lands on the only trading day before a midweek break.
Who reports Q2 results today, October 19
Mint’s list covers lenders, metals, cement, tech and a long tail of smaller names. The ones most traders will track:
- Financials: Bajaj Finance, Union Bank of India, Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) and Piramal Finance.
- Materials and power: UltraTech Cement, Hindustan Zinc, Jaiprakash Power Ventures and Gallantt Ispat.
- Tech, telecom and others: L&T Technology Services, HFCL, Just Dial, Nelco, Sobha, Delta Corp, SML Mahindra and Waaree Renewable Technologies.
One timing point matters here. NSE’s trading holiday list for 2026 shows Tuesday, October 20, as a Dussehra holiday. So any result that comes out after Monday’s close won’t get priced until Wednesday, October 21. That’s two nights of news risk for anyone holding positions.
Bajaj Finance: what the Street expects
This is the big one. An average of five brokerage estimates, compiled by ET Markets, puts consolidated net profit at about Rs 6,383 crore. That’s against Rs 4,948 crore a year ago, a rise of roughly 29%. Net interest income (NII) is pencilled in at Rs 13,373 crore, up about 24% from Rs 10,785 crore.
Growth itself isn’t the question. The company’s provisional update already showed assets under management (AUM) up 26.5% year on year to about Rs 5.85 lakh crore at September 30, from Rs 4.62 lakh crore. It added around Rs 37,800 crore to the loan book in the quarter. Its customer count rose to 12.89 crore from 11.06 crore, and deposits stood at Rs 69,750 crore.
The question is margins. Motilal Oswal expects net interest margin to slip about 10 basis points from the June quarter to roughly 9.4%, and PL Capital also sees pressure as bond yields push up funding costs. On credit costs, Motilal Oswal expects about 1.55% of AUM, flat on the quarter, and PL Capital about 1.6%, so neither is calling for stress. If the margin dip is bigger than 10 basis points, we’d expect that to set the tone more than the headline profit.
Why this Monday is a little different
The market comes in with some wind behind it. Mint notes the Nifty and Sensex logged a second straight weekly gain, ending Friday at 23,146 and 74,729, helped by IT earnings that came in broadly as expected and cooler US Treasury yields.
Meanwhile the weekend’s bank numbers are still being digested. We covered those in our HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank Q2 results roundup. Bajaj Finance and Union Bank now add a non-bank lender and a large PSU bank to that picture. Our week-ahead preview has the rest of the calendar, from Eternal on Wednesday to Infosys and Dr Reddy’s on Friday.
A simple way to read today’s numbers: compare them with the estimates above, not with last year alone. A 29% profit jump is already in the consensus. What the stock does next depends on the gap between the actual number and that consensus, and on management’s comments on margins.
