Urban Company Q2 results, out on October 16, 2026, tell two stories at once. Revenue at the home services platform grew 41%, but the consolidated loss roughly tripled from a year ago, because the company is still spending hard on InstaHelp, its quick home-help service. The board also cleared a plan to raise up to ₹2,500 crore in fresh capital, subject to shareholder approval, as per the company’s board meeting outcome filed with NSE. The meeting wrapped up at 3:42 PM IST, after the close, so the stock only gets to react on Monday. For the broader picture, see our stock market today India hub.

Urban Company Q2 results: the numbers

These are consolidated figures for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27), taken from the exchange filing. Growth rates compare Q2 FY27 with Q2 FY26 unless we say otherwise.

  • Revenue from operations: ₹537.29 crore, up 41.4% from ₹380.03 crore, and up 1.7% from ₹528.34 crore in the June quarter.
  • Net loss: ₹182.48 crore, against ₹59.33 crore a year earlier and ₹92.12 crore in the June quarter.

The shareholder letter filed with BSE adds more colour. Net transaction value (NTV), which is the total value of transactions on the platform, grew 39% to ₹1,432 crore. Orders delivered rose 103% to 15.1 million. Annual transacting users were close to 10 million, up 35%.

The core makes money; InstaHelp eats it

By segment: India consumer services, leaving out InstaHelp, earned revenue of ₹336.38 crore, up 28.4%, with a segment profit of ₹43.39 crore. InstaHelp’s revenue jumped to ₹20.54 crore from ₹1.43 crore. Its segment loss, though, widened to ₹173.12 crore from ₹42.91 crore.

The shareholder letter puts adjusted EBITDA (a company-defined measure of operating profit) at a loss of ₹144 crore, and that includes a ₹174 crore loss at InstaHelp. Strip InstaHelp out and adjusted EBITDA was ₹30 crore, up 213% year-on-year. InstaHelp fulfilled 6.2 million orders, up 63% from the June quarter, and its adjusted EBITDA loss per order improved to ₹279 from ₹346. The catch: average net order value fell to ₹114 from ₹138, which the company blamed on competition and introductory pricing for new users.

Overseas, international NTV grew 66% to ₹267 crore. The Native products business grew NTV 35% to ₹132 crore. Festive and e-commerce sales shifted into the December quarter this year, so the company expects combined Q2 and Q3 FY27 NTV growth of 50-55% for Native.

The ₹2,500 crore raise and the targets

The board approved raising up to ₹2,500 crore through equity shares or convertible securities, by preferential allotment or private placement, including one or more qualified institutions placements (QIP), subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. The company said it had ₹1,901 crore in cash and treasury investments at September 30. It framed the raise as a way to keep the flexibility to invest across its businesses and pursue selective acquisitions. It also repeated its targets of adjusted EBITDA breakeven by Q3 FY28 and adjusted EBITDA of ₹1,000 crore by FY31, as reported by The Economic Times and BusinessLine. BusinessLine quoted management as saying InstaHelp losses will stay elevated for a few more quarters before they start coming down.

How the stock stood, and what to track

Urban Company shares closed at ₹158.12 on the NSE on Friday, up ₹3.81 or 2.47% from ₹154.31, after moving between ₹153.28 and ₹159.80, according to the NSE bhavcopy for October 16. That move happened before the results came out.

The core business is growing and its margins are getting better, while InstaHelp is a deliberate cash burn. We would watch three things: whether InstaHelp’s loss per order keeps shrinking as volumes rise, how much the planned fundraise dilutes existing shareholders, and whether Native actually delivers its festive-quarter growth. Our Urban Company Q2 results preview set out expectations, and our guide on how to analyse quarterly results of a company explains how to read numbers like these.
