Tata Consumer Q2 results came in on October 26, 2026, and the headline is simple: volumes did the heavy lifting. Revenue from operations rose 14% year-on-year to ₹5,661 crore, and group consolidated net profit climbed 16% to ₹470 crore, according to the company’s press release and the results filed with the exchanges.

Tata Consumer Q2 results: the key numbers

  • Revenue from operations: ₹5,661.13 crore, up 14% from ₹4,965.90 crore a year ago (11% in constant currency) and about 5.8% higher than ₹5,348.88 crore in the June quarter.
  • Consolidated EBITDA: ₹794 crore, up 18%, per the press release. That works out to a margin of roughly 14% of revenue.
  • Profit before exceptional items and tax: ₹632.28 crore, up 21% from ₹523.28 crore.
  • Group consolidated net profit: ₹470.14 crore against ₹406.51 crore, a 16% rise. Sequentially it was up about 10% from ₹427.19 crore.
  • Basic EPS: ₹4.75 for the quarter, against ₹4.09 a year earlier.

One small thing that trips people up: some live coverage, including CNBC-TV18’s results liveblog, quoted profit of ₹467 crore, up nearly 18%. That is the net profit after tax before the share of associates and joint ventures (₹467.23 crore vs ₹397.05 crore). Add the ₹2.91 crore share from associates and you get the ₹470 crore group figure the company headlines. The quarter also carried a small exceptional charge of ₹7.37 crore, which the filing says was an adjustment of contingent consideration paid on a business acquisition.

India did the work, international lapped a high base

The India business is where the growth sat. Segment revenue for India branded rose to ₹3,666 crore from ₹3,122 crore, roughly 17% higher, and the company reported underlying volume growth of 11% in the India branded business, led by salt. Salt revenue grew 15%.

The “growth businesses” bucket grew 40% and now makes up 38% of the India business. Within that, Tata Sampann revenue jumped 57% and the ready-to-drink business grew 47%. Capital Foods and Organic India together grew 15%, held back by shipping disruption in exports, while their domestic revenue rose 24%.

Tea was the quiet spot. India tea volumes were flat amid subdued category demand, and revenue slipped marginally as the gap between volume and value growth narrowed after pricing actions.

Overseas, international business revenue grew 7% but fell 2% in constant currency, against a high base. A continued heatwave hurt category consumption in the UK, though the company says Tetley outperformed the category. Tata Starbucks revenue grew 15%, and the chain ended the quarter with 505 stores across 81 cities after seven net new openings.

The margin detail worth watching

Here’s what we’d keep an eye on. India branded segment results rose to ₹408.54 crore from ₹358.76 crore, but as a share of segment revenue that is about 11.1%, a shade below roughly 11.5% a year ago. The filing says better operating performance in the international and non-branded businesses was partly offset by inflationary pressure on key input costs in India branded. So the growth is volume-led and real, but costs are nibbling at the edges.

What it means for investors

MD and CEO Sunil D’Souza called it the second straight quarter of double-digit revenue growth in FY27. For the first half, revenue is up 13% to ₹11,010 crore and group net profit up about 21.5% to ₹897 crore, per the filing. The question for the next few quarters is whether the newer brands keep scaling fast enough to offset a sluggish tea category and input-cost pressure.
