Supreme Petrochem Q2 results landed on Friday, October 23, and the headline is easy to read: net profit for the September quarter nearly doubled to ₹94.9 crore from ₹48.2 crore a year ago, a rise of about 97%, according to Livemint. The polystyrene maker also declared an interim dividend of ₹2.50 a share. The market wasn’t impressed on the day, though. More on that below.

Supreme Petrochem Q2 results: the key numbers
Revenue from operations rose 77.8% year-on-year to ₹1,956.7 crore, up from ₹1,100.2 crore in Q2 FY26. Operating EBITDA grew faster, up 91.4% to ₹148.5 crore from ₹77.6 crore. Total EBITDA, which includes other income, rose 85.1% to ₹159.9 crore from ₹86.4 crore.
Put those numbers side by side and the operating margin works out to roughly 7.6% of revenue this quarter, against about 7.1% a year ago, by our arithmetic from the reported figures. So margins improved, but only a little. Most of the profit jump came from selling a lot more, not from earning much more on each rupee of sales.
- Revenue from operations: ₹1,956.7 crore, up 77.8% YoY
- Operating EBITDA: ₹148.5 crore, up 91.4% YoY
- Net profit (PAT): ₹94.9 crore, up about 97% YoY
The half-year picture is stronger, and that tells a story
For the April-September half, operating revenue grew 46.8% to ₹3,649.4 crore. Operating EBITDA jumped 149.1% to ₹479.1 crore, and PAT climbed 156.6% to ₹331.3 crore from ₹129.1 crore, Livemint reported.
Here is the detail we found most interesting. Subtract the September quarter from the half-year totals and the June quarter comes out at roughly ₹236 crore of profit on about ₹1,693 crore of revenue. In other words, Q2 brought in more revenue than Q1 but less than half the profit. Year-on-year the quarter looks great. Sequentially, margins have come off sharply. Anyone tracking the stock will want to hear why on the earnings call.
Year-on-year, profit doubled. Quarter-on-quarter, it fell by more than half on higher sales. Both are true, and the second one is the bit to watch.
Dividend: ₹2.50 a share, record date October 30
The board declared a first interim dividend of ₹2.50 per share for FY27, which is 125% of the ₹2 face value. On 18,80,41,342 shares, that’s a total payout of about ₹47.01 crore, as CNBC-TV18 and Livemint reported. The record date is Friday, October 30, 2026. The company hasn’t yet said when it will pay.
Under the T+1 settlement cycle, shares bought on or after the record date won’t qualify. Livemint puts the past 12 months of dividends at ₹10.50 a share, a yield of about 1.47% at ₹712.60. If the record date versus ex-date distinction trips you up, our guide on how to analyse quarterly results of a company walks through it.
How the stock reacted
Supreme Petrochem closed at ₹710.10 on the BSE on Friday, down ₹28.55 or 3.87%, CNBC-TV18 reported. Livemint notes the stock is up about 10% in 2026 and 54% above its 52-week low, but still roughly 27% below its record high of ₹979. It fell about 2% in 2025 after five straight years of gains.
It was a rough day for oil-linked names generally. State refiner BPCL also reported its numbers on Friday; you can read our take in the BPCL Q2 results post.
Our read: the annual comparison flatters this quarter. The real test is whether margins climb back towards first-quarter levels or settle closer to where they were in September.
