Today is the HCL Technologies dividend record date October 16. HCLTech picked Friday, October 16, 2026 as the record date for its ₹12-per-share interim dividend, with the money due on Monday, October 26, 2026, as per the company’s October 12 filing to BSE and NSE. NSE’s corporate-actions data puts the ex-date on the same day, which means the stock trades without the dividend from today’s session itself. For how the rest of the market is doing, our Stock Market Today India hub has the picture.

HCL Technologies dividend record date October 16: the details
The board met on October 12 to clear numbers for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27). The same filing declared an interim dividend of ₹12 on each equity share of ₹2 face value for financial year 2026-27. The meeting itself ran from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM IST.
Check NSE’s corporate actions listing and the HCLTECH line reads “Interim Dividend – Rs 12 Per Share”, with ex-date and record date both on October 16, 2026. So who qualifies? Only those who bought on or before Thursday, October 15 and held into the record date. Livemint points out that with India on T+1 settlement, anything bought on or after the record date misses out. If the two dates landing together confuses you, our piece on dividend record date vs ex-date explains why that happens now.
The numbers that matter
- Dividend: ₹12 per share, or 600% of the ₹2 face value.
- Record date and ex-date: October 16, 2026; payment date: October 26, 2026.
- Last-12-month payout: ₹60 per share. On the earnings call, CFO Shiv Walia said that works out to 88.6% of net income handed back; NDTV Profit carried the same figures.
- Recent payouts on NSE: ₹12 (ex-date January 16, 2026), ₹24 (ex-date April 24, 2026), ₹12 (ex-date July 17, 2026) and now ₹12. Add the four and you get the ₹60.
- Share price: the stock closed at ₹1,360.00 on NSE on October 15, against ₹1,327.00 a session earlier, going by the NSE bhavcopy. On that close, this ₹12 is roughly 0.88% of the price and the ₹60 trailing payout about 4.4% (our calculation).
The quarter behind the cheque
This wasn’t a payout squeezed out of a weak quarter. HCLTech’s Q2 FY27 investor release shows revenue of ₹35,620 crore, up 3.0% on the June quarter and 11.5% on the year. Net income came in at ₹5,132 crore, 11.0% higher sequentially and 21.2% higher year on year; the CFO called it the company’s best quarterly profit ever. EBIT margin went up 131 basis points from the prior quarter to 18.2%. For FY27, management now sees company revenue growing 2.5% to 4.0% in constant currency, with EBIT margin between 17.5% and 18.5%. We wrote up how the market took it in Nifty IT’s October 13 surge.
If you hold, or were planning to buy
Bought on or before October 15? The ₹12 a share is yours even if you sell today, since from the ex-date the shares change hands without the entitlement. Buying today gets you the stock, not this dividend. The payment is slated for October 26 into the bank account linked to your holding, and NDTV Profit suggests eligible holders make sure their bank and demat details are current so nothing gets held up.
For long-term holders, what stands out is how steady this has been. Paying out ₹60 a share over a year, equal to 88.6% of net income, while profit keeps growing tells us HCLTech is giving back most of what it earns. Two things we’d track from here: whether the ₹12 quarterly rate sticks, and how deal wins show up in the second half of FY27.
