The results day October 15 market setup is about as busy as it gets. Thursday brings the weekly Sensex expiry, at least 25 important quarterly results, four IPOs and a pending price band for the Jio Platforms IPO, according to CNBC-TV18. Outside IT, Nestle India and Jio Financial Services are the big names, and both report with hot wholesale inflation and crude above $107 a barrel hanging over the market.

How Wednesday left the indices
Wednesday handed back some of Tuesday’s rally. The Nifty 50 closed at 22,622.70, down 99.25 points or 0.44%, and the Sensex lost 251.89 points to end at 72,781.89, BusinessLine reported. Bank Nifty settled at 55,316, off 165.05 points or 0.30%.
Macro data did the damage. Wholesale price inflation rose to 11.39% in September from 9.92% in August, while retail inflation came in at 5.54%. Vinod Nair of Geojit Investments said the hotter WPI print pushed bond yields up and brought back worries about tighter monetary policy. Brent stayed above $107 a barrel on Gulf supply risks, and MCX crude crossed ₹9,000. Sectors pulled in different directions: Nifty IT added 1.1% and Nifty FMCG rose 1.21%, but Nifty Pharma fell 1.30%.
Results day October 15 market setup: who reports
CNBC-TV18’s list of Thursday’s reporters includes 360 ONE WAM, Angel One, HDFC AMC, HDFC Life Insurance, IIFL Finance, IRFC, Jio Financial Services, L&T Finance, Nestle India, Persistent Systems, Polycab, South Indian Bank, Sterling & Wilson Renewables, Tata Communications, Tech Mahindra and Wipro. The IT names get their own treatment in our IT stocks results day preview. Then there are the stocks reacting to numbers that came out after Wednesday’s close: HDB Financial Services, Bajaj Consumer Care, CEAT, ICICI Lombard, MRPL, Tata Technologies and Emmvee Photovoltaic.
Nestle India: Brokerage estimates compiled by Business Standard put Q2 FY27 revenue at ₹6,765 crore to ₹6,809 crore, a 20-21% rise over last year, and profit at ₹1,022 crore to ₹1,034 crore, up roughly 37-38%. Volumes are expected to grow close to 10%, and cheaper coffee plus a better sales mix should help margins. Axis Direct models an EBITDA margin of 23.6%; HDFC Securities has 23.7%.
Jio Financial Services: The board meets on October 15 to approve results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2026, per Sahi Markets. Q1 FY27 consolidated net profit was ₹830.25 crore, and the year-ago Q2 FY26 base is ₹695 crore. Jio Credit’s gross AUM stood at ₹30,667 crore in Q1, and the company recently put ₹320.05 crore into its Jio Allianz General Insurance joint venture.
IPOs, the Jio Platforms band and deal news
CNBC-TV18 also flags four IPOs opening for subscription that together want to raise over ₹8,000 crore (our IPO day breakdown goes through each). The Jio Platforms price band is due too. The plan is 27 crore fresh equity shares, with quotas for Reliance Industries shareholders and eligible employees, so a sharp move in Reliance could drag the Nifty either way. And the Fairfax-IDBI Bank deal keeps IDBI Bank and CSB Bank, whose promoter is currently Fairfax, in the spotlight.
Levels to watch on Sensex expiry day
For CNBC-TV18, the key support is 22,550, where the Nifty found its floor on Wednesday. Supply sits in the 22,750-22,800 zone, and getting past it could open the road to 23,000. Nagraj Shetti of HDFC Securities said a decisive breakout above 22,700-22,800 could stretch short covering towards 23,100-23,200, with 22,300 as support if things weaken. Bank Nifty is still boxed in a 55,000-55,500 range. Om Mehra of SAMCO Securities pointed to fresh call writing at 55,500 and 56,000, with the highest put open interest at 55,000.
Our read on Thursday
With this many company-specific triggers, we’d expect Thursday to be a stock picker’s day more than an index day. Nestle’s commentary on volumes and margins will show whether the FMCG bounce has legs. Jio Financial’s lending growth and the Jio Platforms pricing could swing the Reliance-linked counters. And with inflation and crude where they are, yield-sensitive sectors will stay on the radar. Follow the live session on our stock market today India hub.
