The Canara Bank Q2 results date is Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The state-owned lender has told the exchanges that its board meets that day to consider and approve the unaudited (reviewed) standalone and consolidated results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026. That comes from the bank’s filing, as reported by Livemint and PSU Connect.

Canara Bank Q2 results date and board meeting details

The intimation went in on Friday, October 9. PSU Connect, citing the bank’s notice of the same date, says the trading window for Canara Bank securities has been shut since October 1 and stays shut until October 16, 2026, under SEBI’s insider trading rules. That’s two days after the board meeting.

Canara won’t have the day to itself. The Economic Times earnings tracker has about 25 companies lined up for October 14, among them BHEL, Groww parent Billionbrains Garage Ventures, Tata Technologies, HDB Financial Services, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, Ceat, Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts and MRPL. The same list puts HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and Yes Bank on Saturday, October 17. In other words, Canara’s numbers land three days before those four private lenders report. The other PSU name reporting that Wednesday is covered in our BHEL Q2 results date post.

What the provisional September quarter numbers show

We already have a rough picture. Canara Bank put out provisional business figures for the period ended September 30, 2026, in an exchange filing dated October 1. These figures are still subject to review by the bank’s statutory central auditors.

Item (₹ crore) Sep 30, 2025 Sep 30, 2026 (provisional) Year-on-year growth
Global business 26,51,322 30,70,928 15.83%
Global deposits 15,00,281 16,97,195 13.13%
Global advances 11,51,041 13,73,733 19.35%
Domestic RAM advances 6,71,141 8,12,109 21.00%

RAM here means retail, agriculture and MSME loans. Against the June 2026 quarter, global advances were up 6.21% and global deposits up 5.31%, the same filing shows. Loans are growing faster than deposits on both a yearly and a quarterly basis, and that’s the first thing analysts will try to tie back to margins once the full results are out.

Where Q1 left off and what to watch

In the April to June 2026 quarter, Livemint reported, Canara Bank’s net profit rose 2% year-on-year to ₹4,856 crore from ₹4,752 crore. Net interest income (NII) grew faster, up 13% to ₹10,216 crore from ₹9,008 crore. If that line item needs a refresher, our guide to net interest income covers it.

Analysts quoted by Livemint expect strong credit growth for the September quarter. Mahesh M Ojha of KC Securities said the market expects better CASA (current and savings account deposits) at most Indian banks, and that what will matter is how much Canara Bank’s CASA grew and how far that supported its net interest margin. On the day the date was announced, Livemint had the stock around ₹120 by 3:15 PM, up over 1.5% from the previous close of ₹117.35.

What it means for investors

The size of the loan book is already known from the provisional data. So the result will be judged mostly on profit, NII, margin and asset quality. We’d look at gross and net NPA trends first; our GNPA and NNPA explainer shows how to read them, and the guide to analysing quarterly results has the full checklist. The Economic Times tracker also warns that relentless FII selling and global headwinds are likely to keep markets volatile, so the share’s reaction may depend as much on the broader mood as on the numbers.
