The Q2 results this week will keep almost every corner of Dalal Street busy. ET Now counts 469 companies scheduled to report September-quarter numbers between Monday, October 26 and Saturday, October 31, while Moneycontrol Hindi puts the figure for the five weekdays at more than 250. Either way, it is the busiest stretch of the season so far, and it lands in a market that is already on edge.

Below is the day-by-day list of the bigger names. We have only included companies that both calendars place on the same day.

Q2 results this week, day by day

Monday, October 26. Tata Consumer Products, One 97 Communications (Paytm), ITC Hotels, Mankind Pharma, REC, APL Apollo Tubes and Bank of Maharashtra. ET Now says REC is also scheduled to consider a dividend.

Tuesday, October 27. This is the heavy one. Larsen & Toubro, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, SAIL, Cipla, ACC, SBI Life Insurance, Tata Capital, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders and Waaree Energies all report. Mazagon Dock is set to consider a dividend, according to ET Now.

Wednesday, October 28. Hindustan Unilever, Hero MotoCorp, Hyundai Motor India, TVS Motor, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Pidilite Industries, United Spirits, Bandhan Bank and Meesho. HUL will also consider a dividend.

Thursday, October 29. Asian Paints, Trent, Suzlon Energy, Coal India, Ambuja Cements, Godrej Consumer Products, InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), Laurus Labs, Motilal Oswal Financial Services and Pine Labs. Coal India and Asian Paints have dividend decisions on the agenda too.

Friday, October 30. Sun Pharma, Bharat Electronics, Bank of Baroda, GAIL, Indian Oil, Dixon Technologies, Max Healthcare, NTPC Green Energy, LIC Housing Finance, Varun Beverages and Delhivery. Sun Pharma has confirmed the date in its own press release, with an earnings call at 6.30 pm IST that evening.

Saturday, October 31. ET Now lists NTPC and CDSL, with NTPC also scheduled to consider a dividend.

What the market will be looking for

Results don’t arrive in a vacuum this time. The US Fed meeting and other cues covered in our stock market week ahead preview will be competing for attention, so management guidance and margin commentary may move stocks as much as the headline profit number.

A few threads are worth following through the week. L&T’s order book is the usual read on infrastructure spending. Maruti, Bajaj Auto, Hero and TVS together give a fairly complete picture of vehicle demand going into the festive months. HUL, Tata Consumer and Godrej Consumer will show whether rural and urban consumption is holding up. And with banks like Bank of Baroda and Bandhan reporting, asset quality will get the same scrutiny it did in last week’s private bank numbers, such as the Kotak Bank Q2 results.

Moneycontrol Hindi makes the same point: with auto, banking, FMCG, pharma, infrastructure and energy companies reporting in the same week, the market will watch raw material costs, demand and margins closely.

One practical tip. Board meeting dates can shift, so it is sensible to confirm a company’s date on the NSE or BSE corporate announcements page before planning a trade around it.
