ICICI Prudential AMC Q2 results tell a simple story once you look past the headline: the business grew a lot faster than the profit line. The asset manager (NSE: ICICIAMC, BSE: 544658) put out its board-meeting outcome filed with BSE and NSE on 12 October 2026, showing profit after tax of ₹888.96 crore for the September 2026 quarter. That’s up 6.1% from ₹837.99 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations climbed 16.3% year on year to ₹1,673.79 crore. The board also declared an interim dividend of ₹30 per share, and fixed 21 October 2026 as the record date.

ICICI Prudential AMC Q2 results: the key numbers

Everything below comes from the company’s reviewed standalone results for the quarter ended 30 September 2026. The filing reports in ₹ million, so we’ve converted to crore. Percentages compare Q2 FY27 with Q2 FY26 unless we say otherwise.

  • Revenue from operations: ₹1,673.79 crore, up 16.3% year on year, and up 7.0% on the ₹1,564.22 crore booked in Q1 FY27.
  • Other income: ₹16.91 crore. A year ago it was ₹71.86 crore, and in the June quarter it was ₹180.80 crore.
  • Total expenses: ₹493.00 crore, up 17.9% from ₹418.31 crore. Fees and commission expense was ₹132.85 crore and employee costs ₹212.77 crore.
  • Profit before tax: ₹1,197.70 crore, up 9.6%. Take out other income and operating profit before tax comes to ₹1,180.79 crore, up 15.7%.
  • Profit after tax: ₹888.96 crore, up 6.1% on the year but 7.8% lower than the ₹964.63 crore of Q1 FY27.
  • Diluted EPS: ₹17.98 for the quarter, versus ₹16.95 a year ago.
  • First half (H1 FY27): profit after tax of ₹1,853.59 crore, up 14.3% from ₹1,621.61 crore.

So why did 16% revenue growth turn into only 6% profit growth? Almost all of it is other income. Kotak Neo’s results coverage points out that other income fell from ₹180.80 crore in Q1 to ₹16.91 crore in Q2, and that drop explains the sequential dip in profit. Meanwhile operating profit before tax still grew 7.4% quarter on quarter on the filing’s numbers. With an asset manager, operating profit is the number we’d trust more, because it shows how the fee business is actually doing. Assets, market share and investors

ET Markets reports that mutual fund quarterly average assets under management (QAAUM) rose 14.4% to ₹11.61 lakh crore, from ₹10.15 lakh crore, for a 13.3% market share. Equity and equity-oriented schemes grew 16.3% to ₹6.59 lakh crore. Equity-oriented hybrid schemes did even better, up 19.7% to ₹2.29 lakh crore, and here the company holds a 26.4% share. Monthly systematic flows, meaning SIPs and STPs across mutual funds and PMS, came to ₹4,672 crore in September 2026. Unique customers went up to 17.8 million from 15.5 million. Alternatives QAAUM, which covers PMS, AIFs and advisory assets, was ₹80,965 crore.

Dividend and corporate actions

Shareholders on the register as of 21 October 2026 get the ₹30 interim dividend. The filing also mentions an agreement signed on 23 September 2026 to buy the entire portfolio management services business of ICICI Securities on a slump-sale basis. That deal still needs SEBI approval.

How the stock reacted and what it means

The numbers landed after market hours. On Monday the stock had closed at ₹2,967.40 on BSE, down 2.02%, giving a market capitalisation of about ₹1,46,666 crore, according to ET. Our read is mixed, but not weak. Fee revenue and operating profit grew in the mid-teens, assets and customer numbers kept rising, and the profit dip traces back to volatile treasury income, not the core franchise. Two things to watch from here: whether equity inflows hold up while markets stay choppy, and whether costs, which grew a little faster than revenue this quarter, stay under control. Tuesday’s session is the market’s first go at pricing the results. You can track live moves on our Stock Market Today India hub and see the rest of this week’s Q2 results calendar.
