Tuesday Is Crowded, and So Is the Week
Tata Elxsi won’t have the day to itself. The ET Markets earnings tracker also has newly listed Hero Motors (reporting its first quarterly numbers), ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Transformers and Rectifiers (India) and Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers down for October 13. By ET Markets’ count, 129 companies report Q2 FY27 numbers this week, and Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Persistent Systems follow on October 15. Our Q2 results this week list has the full day-by-day calendar. HCL Technologies has already reported, on October 12, and our HCLTech Q2 results report walks through those numbers.
Where Tata Elxsi Starts From: The Q1 FY27 Numbers
Tuesday’s figures will be read against the June quarter. Here is what the company reported in its Q1 FY27 press release of July 14, 2026:
- Revenue from operations of Rs 1,021.1 crore, 2.8% higher than the March quarter and 14.5% higher than a year earlier.
- EBITDA of Rs 216.0 crore, up 15.7% year on year, which works out to an EBITDA margin (EBITDA as a share of operating revenue) of 21.2%.
- Profit before tax of Rs 232.5 crore, up 18.4% year on year, a PBT margin of 21.9%.
- Profit after tax of Rs 170.6 crore, up 18.2% year on year, a PAT margin of 16.1%.
Those year-on-year gains looked healthy. The quarter-on-quarter view was softer. ET Now reported that profit dropped 22.6% from the March quarter. In constant currency, which takes exchange-rate swings out of the picture, revenue grew just 1.3% sequentially and 6.5% year on year. Attrition also crept up, to 16% from 15.8% in Q4 FY26.
What We’ll Be Watching When Tata Elxsi Reports
Transportation. This vertical grew 13.3% year on year in Q1, on the back of OEM engagements and wins in off-road and aerospace. OEMs now account for 78% of automotive revenue, the company said. The question is whether that pace carried into Q2.
Media and Communications. Q1’s best performer, up 22.2% year on year and 4.7% quarter on quarter as large deals ramped up.
Healthcare and Life Sciences. Growth here was a thin 1.7% quarter on quarter in what management called a muted environment. Any pickup would stand out.
Margins. Management has flagged targeted investments in FY27 in specialised talent, AI platforms, tools and infrastructure, while saying it wants to protect margins. Set the Q2 EBITDA margin next to Q1’s 21.2% and you’ll see how that balancing act is going.
What It Means for Investors
The call starts at 7 PM IST, long after Tuesday’s session closes, so most of the market’s response will probably play out on Wednesday. Rather than react to the headline profit change alone, check the Q2 numbers against the Q1 baseline above, both as reported and in constant currency. Our guide on how to analyse quarterly results of a company lays out a step-by-step method, and the Stock Market Today India hub tracks the wider market through the day.
