The Godrej Consumer Q2 results were the kind FMCG investors have been waiting for: volumes doing the heavy lifting, not just price hikes. Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) reported consolidated net profit of ₹522.92 crore for July-September, up 13.8% from ₹459.34 crore a year earlier, according to Business Standard. Revenue from operations rose 19% to ₹4,413.09 crore from ₹3,708.19 crore.

Godrej Consumer Q2 results in numbers
- Consolidated EBITDA grew 12% year-on-year to ₹820 crore, ET Markets reported, citing the exchange filing.
- Underlying volume growth (UVG) was 8% at the consolidated level and 7% for the standalone, mostly domestic, business.
- Total expenses rose 20.6% to ₹3,758.26 crore, per Business Standard.
- The board declared an interim dividend of ₹5 per share of face value ₹1. The record date is November 4, 2026, and payment is due on or before November 27, 2026.
One thing jumps out. Profit grew slower than sales, and EBITDA grew slower still. Expenses rising faster than revenue tells you input costs are biting, and the company said as much about fabric care, where commodity inflation forced steep price increases with more sequential pricing on the way.
India: decent, with a caveat
Revenue from India rose 12.81% to ₹2,654.07 crore. MD and CEO Aasif Malbari said the 7% standalone volume growth came despite an estimated 150 basis points hit from trade inventory correction during the quarter. In plain terms, GCPL let distributors run down their stock rather than push goods into the channel, which trims reported growth now but keeps the numbers honest.
Home Care grew 19%, helped by household insecticides, air fresheners and fabric care, while Personal Care grew 8%. Soaps held steady even after big price increases and smaller pack sizes, though against a favourable base. The company also flagged new launches, including Godrej Zap stain remover, Godrej Rizz liquid dishwash in select western and southern markets, and a premium hair colour range called Hair Lab.
Overseas does the sprinting
Indonesia, GCPL’s second-biggest market, brought in ₹538.29 crore, up 20.1%, with 8% volume growth. EBITDA there grew 12% even though LPG prices more than doubled, according to ET Markets. The Africa, USA and Middle East business grew sales 40% in reported terms and 23% in constant currency, with 16% volume growth and EBITDA up 43%. That cluster has now posted seven straight quarters of top-line growth and 11 of bottom-line growth.
The company kept its FY27 guidance of high-single-digit standalone volume growth and double-digit revenue and EBITDA growth at the consolidated level. It said first-half revenue ran ahead of plan.
How the stock and peers stack up
The results came after market hours. GCPL shares closed at ₹834 on the BSE on Thursday, up 1.77%, per Business Standard. That’s a useful contrast with the paint and FMCG names we covered this week: see our take on Asian Paints Q2 results and HUL’s Q2 numbers.
What we’d watch next is simple. If domestic volumes stay around 7% once the inventory correction washes out, and pricing in fabric care sticks without hurting demand, the margin squeeze should ease. If commodity costs keep climbing, the gap between sales growth and profit growth could widen before it narrows.
