HCLTech Q2 results 2026 did two things investors like to see: beat on profit and lift the full-year outlook. On Monday, October 12, HCL Technologies posted a consolidated net profit of ₹5,132 crore for July-September. That is 11% more than the previous quarter and 21.2% more than a year ago, CNBC-TV18 reported.

Analysts polled by CNBC-TV18 had pencilled in ₹4,963 crore. The company said this was its highest quarterly net income ever.

HCLTech Q2 Results 2026: The Numbers That Matter

  • Net profit: ₹5,132 crore, up 11% QoQ and 21.2% YoY (poll: ₹4,963 crore)
  • Revenue: ₹35,620 crore, up 3% QoQ and 11.5% YoY (poll: ₹35,819 crore)
  • Dollar revenue: $3,724 million, up 2% QoQ from $3,650 million (poll: $3,747 million)
  • Constant-currency revenue growth: 2.3% QoQ, 2.6% YoY
  • EBIT: ₹6,465 crore, up 10.9% QoQ (poll: ₹6,393 crore)
  • EBIT margin: 18.2%, up 131 basis points from 16.9%
  • Interim dividend: ₹12 per share

That margin already absorbs 84 basis points of restructuring costs. Without them, the underlying margin would be higher.

The Real Headline: FY27 Guidance Goes Up

For us, the outlook matters more than the quarter. HCLTech raised its FY27 revenue growth guidance to 2.5-4% in constant currency, up from 1-4% earlier.

Services revenue growth guidance was tightened to 3-4%, from 1.5-4.5%. The EBIT margin band is unchanged at 17.5-18.5%.

When a company lifts the bottom of its range, it is telling you it feels better about demand in the second half.

Deal Wins and AI Revenue

New bookings came in at $3.258 billion, up 27% year on year. The company said first-half bookings were a record.

Advanced AI services brought in $219 million of revenue, growing 28.4% QoQ and 78% YoY in constant currency.

CEO C Vijayakumar said services grew 3.0% sequentially, with growth across verticals and geographies.

Where the Growth Came From

IT and business services grew 2.7% QoQ in constant currency, and engineering and R&D services did better at 4.1% QoQ.

HCLSoftware was the soft patch. Its revenue fell 5.8% QoQ and 11.2% YoY, which is why the company’s total growth lagged its services growth.

Across verticals, retail and CPG grew 14% YoY and financial services 7.1%. Life sciences and telecom/media both slipped 2.1%.

People and Returns

Headcount was 230,339 on September 30, after net additions of 6,450, including 6,136 freshers. Trailing-twelve-month attrition ticked up to 12.8% from 12.7% a quarter ago.

CFO Shiv Walia said return on invested capital reached 41.2%, up 261 basis points year on year.

How the Stock Stands

The numbers landed after market hours. HCLTech shares had closed 0.5% higher at ₹1,223 on Monday, but the stock is still down more than 25% in 2026 and 18% over the past year.

It was a weak day for IT overall. The Nifty IT index fell 0.79%, per ET Now’s live blog, as we covered in our report on why the market fell today.

Our Read

A profit beat, wider margins and a higher guidance floor make a good combination. The small revenue miss and the slide in software are the parts to keep an eye on.

As Q2 season rolls on, these numbers will be measured against peers. To read results like this yourself, see our guide on how to analyse quarterly results of a company and our explainer on EBITDA margin.
