Tejas Networks Q2 results: key figures

The figures below are for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27), taken from the company’s earnings call presentation and results press release, which was also filed with BSE and NSE. All amounts are in crore rupees, and brackets in the company’s tables mean a loss.

  • Revenue from operations: ₹406 crore, up 55% from ₹262 crore in Q2 FY26 and up about 1% from ₹402 crore in the June quarter.
  • EBITDA: a loss of ₹108 crore, against a loss of ₹293 crore a year earlier and ₹99 crore in the June quarter.
  • Loss before tax: ₹277 crore, compared with ₹473 crore a year earlier.
  • Net loss: ₹207 crore, against ₹307 crore a year earlier and ₹202 crore in the June quarter.
  • First half: revenue for April to September was ₹808 crore against ₹464 crore, and the net loss was ₹409 crore against ₹501 crore.

A Reuters report carried on TradingView also put the consolidated loss after tax at 2.07 billion rupees, matching the ₹207 crore in the company’s tables. So the loss is about a third smaller than a year ago, but slightly wider than in the June quarter, as revenue barely moved from the previous three months.

Order book jumps on BSNL 4G expansion

The closing order book stood at ₹2,315 crore, up from ₹1,529 crore at the end of June. The company said it received a letter of intent from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to supply 4G radio equipment for more than 18,000 add-on sites on BSNL’s network, and began shipping against it during the quarter. It also made initial shipments of an end-to-end 5G network for a customer in South America that it won in the June quarter.

India made up 88% of quarterly revenue and international business 12%. The order book is even more domestic, with India at 96% and overseas customers at 4%. On the wireline side, the company cited demand for its optical and broadband products, a letter of intent for IP routers in three states under BharatNet Phase 3, and being declared the lowest bidder in a government tender for a pan-India optical network.

Debt and working capital

Net debt rose to ₹4,384 crore from ₹4,277 crore at the end of June, made up of gross debt of ₹4,835 crore less cash of ₹451 crore. The company said the increase came from operating and capital spending needs. Inventory eased slightly to ₹2,314 crore from ₹2,358 crore, and management expects a large part of it to be used in the BSNL order. Its stated goals include a sharper focus on collections, lower inventory and reaching positive EBITDA on a quarterly basis.

The results came after trading hours, so Friday’s price move does not reflect them. On the NSE, the stock closed at ₹474.75 on Friday, up ₹6.50 or 1.39% from ₹468.25, after trading between ₹462.25 and ₹481.55, according to the NSE bhavcopy for October 16.

What the numbers leave for investors to watch

Tejas is still losing money, but the year-on-year comparison has improved sharply and the order book is now more than five times the latest quarter’s revenue. The key things to watch are how quickly BSNL deliveries turn into revenue and collections, whether debt starts to come down, and whether the company hits its goal of positive quarterly EBITDA. Our guide on how to analyse quarterly results of a company explains how to read these numbers.
